3M 5911 P1R Particulate Filter

The 3M Particulate Filter 5911 P1 is a respiratory protection filter for particle-laden environments, designed for use in combination with 3M 6000, 6500QL, and 7500 series reusable respirators. It is certified according to the European standard EN 143:2000 (P1 R) and specifically developed to reduce the inhalation of solid and liquid particles encountered during mechanical processes such as sanding, dust generation, or manufacturing work – e.g., dust, mists, fibers, and metal dusts. Thanks to its bayonet connection, the filter can be attached quickly and securely to compatible gas and combination filters, providing a simple, reliable protective solution.

The 5911 particulate filter is designed to be lightweight and comfortable, offering low breathing resistance, which makes prolonged wear easier. It is classified as P1 R, providing basic protection against non-toxic dusts and oil- or water-based aerosols. In practice, the filter is frequently used in conjunction with 3M gas and combination filters and the appropriate 501 filter retainer to counter particulates while simultaneously protecting against gas and vapor hazards.

Please note that this particulate filter alone does not provide complete respiratory protection against gases and vapors and is not suitable for use in IDLH (immediately dangerous to life or health) environments. Replace the filter regularly as soon as it becomes dirty or breathing resistance noticeably increases to ensure consistently high protection.
